Blog: Cheat River Trip with Misaki

Ahhhh so many posts I'm behind on D= Stupid school getting in the way of fun... Anyway, this summer day was so much fun! I better post it before it gets too cold outside XD

My friend Misaki was allowed to invite one friend to come with her to her host family's Labor Day Cheat River picnic, so she asked me!

We wandered around the lake and took pictures of each other, nature, and wildlife.  We found a frog, a butterfly, buckeyes, wild flowers, maybe a tomato plant, tadpoles, and a turtle and I taught her many new English words

We also played with and helped the kids collect snails and whatever else they found in the water

Then we had food and smores!

And last but not least, they let me DRIVE (not just ride) a four wheeler! I have been on one once before in high school (a horrible, gross, muddy experience that I felt was a required thing to try in WV) but I never thought anyone would let me drive one! I don't even have a driver's license! Anyway, it was fun and no one died, and I'm glad Misaki got to at least have this experience while she's here XD

Blog: Yesterday with Friends

Just a little post about my day yesterday.  I was thinking about leaving my camera at home, but I'm so glad I didn't!

First of all, we spotted a very photogenic rabbit eating lunch! It let me get so close without running away

After that, we went to go play badminton (original plan was tennis, but rain....)

There was a sudden downpour while we were inside, so when we went outside after the rain, there were a few soaked cicadas hanging onto leaves.  At least they cant fly in your face when they're wet XP  Very unpopular opinion I'm sure, but I actually like the cicadas!  You only get to see them like this every 17 years!  They're annoying when they fly like right at my face, but I don't mind if they land on me nicely, or if I pick one up and let it crawl on me.  They are a bit loud, but it doesn't bother me that much

Then after the rain, while we were deciding what to eat, there was a rainbow!

Wet cicadas, photogenic bunny, and perfect rainbow.  Glad I brought my camera!

Photography: Azaleas

Azaleas are in bloom everywhere around town!  These are all of the different colors and kinds I encountered with my camera.

These pink ones were in front of the Creative Arts Center.  I was admiring them the day before I got my camera wishing I had my camera, so when I got my new one I went back to take pictures while they were still in full bloom!

I really like the contrast of the dark stormy sky and the white azaleas.  The sun was still shining on them, making them look extra bright, while the dark clouds were on their way in the background.

I got them on a sunny day too!

Then these ones were super tiny! Their petals were also more spaced apart
