Blog: Japan Day 2, Part 2: Shimokitazawa

Takeru said that I would love Shimokitazawa, and he was so right!  It might be my favorite place to shop in Japan so far.  There were so many secondhand and vintage stores there.  Of course there will always be a special place in my heart for Harajuku and Shibuya for shopping ♡

I even spotted a little bit of lolita there!

I found two Gunne Sax dresses at this store! This was one of my favorite secondhand stores for sure.  Really cheap and absolutely full of  cool clothes

After shopping, we went to a game center in Shimokitazawa to do purikura and play some games!

Japan definitely knows what a girly-girl like me wants and needs ♡ This little makeup corner is for getting pretty for purikura.  Lots of girl's bathrooms even have extra mirror sections specifically for doing makeup.  Some purikura places have some costumes that you can wear for the pictures too!

Also, in the purikura section of game centers, boys aren't even allowed unless accompanied by girl.  So, yes to cute purikura with boyfriends, but no creepy lurker guys! ♡

It was exciting to use my Nesica card thingy again and access my old account!

One of my favorite games!  He still beat me though....
I couldn't figure out how to change my thingy from being fries...also I did horribly, but I was so happy they had this song!

This is probably the best I've ever done at this game!
Before leaving Shimokitazawa and heading to an izakaya to meet Takeru's coworkers, we ran into one more cute, literally hole-in-the-wall, store that was having a going out of business sale, and we haggled the price down on a skirt from $150 all the way to $60!

Matcha flavored Baileys! One of the things that I wanted to try while I was in Japan. I was lucky to find it on the menu here.

What all I drank....
And that ends day 2 after a quick ride back home sitting on the back of Takeru's bicycle!

Shopping Finds: Salvation Army, Goodwill, and Retrotique, Morgantown, WV

First of all, Salvation Army finds!

This blouse is vintage, and had a tag on it from a previous store labeled $65, but I got it for like $5

And I've been trying to add more long skirts to my wardrobe, but have trouble finding colors/fabrics that I like, or that fit with my style.  This one is perfect!

And some cute comfy shoes, which I always need!

These next 2 things are from Goodwill

This is from a Chinese brand, and I just love Asian fashion because lace and cute and girly!

And this amazing vintage peacock dress that I got for $15

And I already posted a look with this dress from Retrotique, but I'll throw in this post anyway!

Blog: Shopping, Makeup, Pictures, and Fun Times with Friends!

Hello!
I didn't get enough pictures to make these all a separate post, so I figured I'd just put them together.

This was actually from our Cooper's Rock trip

I'll start with shopping trips! I went to Retrotique with Arianna, tried on a few dresses, and bought one. I really wanna go back and get another!

And then yesterday, I went to Goodwill with Cleo and Ling and got an amazing dress and jacket

Then I went to Rachel's house and we all played with makeup, and I took some pictures! I'm not very good at shooting in low light though DX I prefer natural lighting, so I'll be taking so many pictures when it finally gets warm outside!

Diary: Discovering and Realizing Dreams

I found this amazing dress at Goodwill the other day.  It's real silk, made in India, and full of intricate beading.  I can't even imagine how much this must have originally cost!  I'm so curious as to what kind of person had this in their closet, and how it ended up at Goodwill for only $15.

I see crazy fancy dresses like this and vintage stuff all the time at stores like Goodwill and Salvation Army.  Even though I have no idea where to appropriately wear it besides in a photo shoot, (and I might just wear it to class because I love it so much), I got this dress, and it made me discover what one of my dreams is.  I just really want to collect clothing!  Not just to wear, but like how a person collects art.  Of course, I will wear them too, and do photo shoots with the ones I can't wear in everyday life as much.  (That's also one of the reasons I want to live in Tokyo, I feel like I can wear my style, even some of the crazier stuff, outside and be accepted.)

I just love having like a library of clothes. I don't like getting rid of them if my style changes or whatever, because when I (very rarely) do, I will come back to thinking about whatever it is I got rid of, and other ways of wearing it with the new clothing and styles I've accumulated since then. I want to have a library of  all kinds of clothes from all around the world.  Plus, when you can find dresses, quite commonly at second hand stores, that should be hundreds of dollars for only $15, I can create an amazing clothing library worth waaaaay more for pretty cheap!

One issue with this dream is my plans of moving to Japan...Japanese housing is notoriously small, plus travelling with all of the clothes I have now??  Probably very difficult.  I am torn between my dreams of moving so far away and having a big collection! D:  Well, not really torn, I am DEFINITELY going to live in Japan somehow...

Idk, if anyone has any advice, opinions, ideas, or suggestions, feel free to comment! :D I will find a way to make this happen someday though!

Shopping Finds: Salvation Army, Morgantown

Secondhand and thrift shopping is definitely my favorite kind! I've discovered so many new favorite brands, and learned an ability to be able to sometimes be able to tell an article of clothing's brand from afar before even looking at the tag. Most of the shopping I did while I was in Japan was the same.  Plus, prices are awesome, as long as you don't mind wearing something someone else has worn before

I'll start with shoes!

While I have lots of nice high heels, they aren't very practical for everyday use, as much as I want them to be X(  So, I've been looking for cute, but everyday wearable shoes.  These are obviously better for spring/summer though.  Oh, and they're Korean!  I can't believe I found them at the Salvation army here!

And next are a nice pair of Converse!  I used to have a pair, but I wore them to death.  These are a little bit more appropriate for everyday and cooler weather.  Plus, I have a lot of pink and black in my wardrobe

AND THEN I FOUND MY MOST FAVORITEST PERFUME!!! Yes, the bottles are both more than half empty, but I paid $2 for each, and I have been wanting these for so long, especially the green one.  Way better than the like $60 for a full bottle

And finally this super cute shirt!

It says this at the bottom:

There's a Plato's Closet opening in Morgantown soon, and they're already collecting clothes! I think I'll bring some of mine there soon :)
